Climate Change
an Introduction

Picture
So, you know by now that Green 'Zine is an environmental magazine that is designed to raise awareness about climate change, and show you lots of different ways how you can help combat it. But first of all you might be wondering; what is climate change?
Climate change is a serious issue that is affecting every single person in the whole world. Most people know all about it... But in case you don't, here's the DL:

The greenhouse effect is a natural process that happens because when the sun shines on the earth, the sun's rays bounce off the earth, but they are  trapped inside the ozone layer. This causes a huge build up of heat from these rays. It's exactly like what happens in a greenhouse, or a car on a sunny day. The sun shines through the windows and makes the car really warm, and it gets hotter and hotter until you open a window and let the heat out. the only difference is, there are no windows in the ozone layer. And this effact on the world is becoming more and more severe because of things that the human race are doing. Human activities such as burning fossil fuels etc. are releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere known as the "Greenhouse Gases". These gases become trapped beneath the ozone layer, adding another layer of insulation to the earth which means that even fewer of the sun's rays can escape. This is causing global temperatures to rise (A process which is known as Global Warming), and this is having devastating effects on the world.

The idea behind Green 'Zine is to raise awareness about this serious issue, and show you different ways that you can help. You can find out how to reduce the negative effects industrial farming has on the environment by organically growing your own fruit and veg and thus reducing chemicals and machinery used by farmers. You can learn how to make your own eco-friendly jewellery as opposed to jewellery which is mass produced in factories which emit greenhouse gases and harm the environment. you can learn about ther benefits of  composting and find out how to make delicious organic brownies with a lower carbon footprint, and where to get fab fashionable clothes produced in a way non-harmful to the environment and lots, lots more!
